Benefits of Detoxing
Benefits of Detoxing – Can you afford not to Detox?
What are the benefits of detoxing you ask? Although your body is able to detoxify itself naturally, its detoxifying abilities are made for less harsh environments and a diet that consist of more fruits and vegetables.
Years of eating certain foods and breathing pollutant air can create toxins in your body that can affect your fitness and health. Your body may even show signs of toxic buildup at times when you are experiencing:
- Fatigue.
- Lethargy.
- Stressfulness.
- Achiness.
- Diarrhea.
- Constipation.
- Even feelings of clumsiness.
Rapid weight gain and the incapacity to lose excess weight can also be signs of having toxins in your body because toxins found in the body are stored in fat cells.
For Americans who consume the usual unhealthy American diet, the amount of toxins consumed can be staggering. Most Americans tend to consume a very unhealthy diet consuming tons of unhealthy foods such as:
- Too much red meat.
- Fried foods.
- Lots of Sweets.
- Too much alcohol.
While changing your diet is very important, it’s a very good idea to detox even for those with a healthy diet. A detox will help rid the body of the many toxins that have accumulated over the years, making your body feel better and your skin look healthier.
There are certain organs that help your body deal with waste management. These organs play a major role in the detoxing process for a fit and healthy body:
- Liver – the liver recycles the unwanted chemicals in the body. All hormones, pesticides, drugs, chemicals and food substances are broken down or metabolized by the liver. If they are not processed by the liver, they will be stored in the fat tissues and cell membranes of the body. The dangers of this are they will be released during fasting, stress, or exercise and can cause harm to your body by causing symptoms such as:
- Headaches.
- Stomach pain.
- Nausea.
These potentially harmful substances if not broken down, can build up in the blood, creating more work for your immune system.
- Lymph Glands – the lymph glands also have a major role in eliminating toxins. A network of tubing carries out the excess waste of the cells from the body and to the final eliminating organs. Major lymphatic glands that help the major organs of the body in cleansing and detoxing are:
- Appendix.
- Thymus.
- Tonsil.
- Spleens.
- Kidneys – the kidneys assist with your body’s water management. They keep the good chemistry of the blood alkaline by eliminating the dissolved acid waste. By drinking plenty of water, you can help your kidney function well. It is much better if you drink fresh alkaline juices and purified water. You can take a ½ ounce of alkaline each day to see positive results in your body weight.
- Lungs – the lungs help keep the blood air purified and allow the oxygen to go directly to the bloodstream. They are also in charge of removing waste gases that are found in every cell of your body. Deep breathing and fresh air is very helpful in keeping the lungs healthy and free from toxins. If you live in an urban area, it is recommended that you find an oxygen rich area where you can perform deep breathing.
- Colon – the colon is a solid waste management organ in your body. Medical practitioners have found that some people have mucus and rubber like solid waste on the walls of their colon. Detoxing your colon can provide you good benefits of having a clean and healthy body.
Exercise is a good key in having a fit and healthy body. Many diet doctors also suggest that you drink plenty of lemon water. This is an effective way of maintaining a very good circulation and can increase the rate of detoxification inside the body.
